Vacuum pump applications:
Perfluoropolyether oils are used as working fluids in a variety of vacuum pumps, such as rotary pumps, turbomolecular pumps and vapor diffusion pumps. Perfluoropolyether oils are used as lubricants for compressors and valves when corrosive gases (e.g. liquid and gaseous oxygen, halogens, sulfuric anhydride, etc.) are present in the operating environment.
Applications in magnetic media industry:
Because of its low coefficient of friction, low volatility and good insulating property, PFPE oil is used as lubricant for hard disk, magnetic tape and other magnetic recording media on computer, video, automatic recording device and other instruments.
Applications in the electronics industry:
In the process of producing semiconductors by utilizing plasma etching, LPCVD and plasma cultivation, PFPE oil is used as the lubricant of vacuum mechanical pumps, and has achieved widely satisfactory results.
